The 2019 was heralded as a classic vintage. Spring rains ensured adequate water supplies to cope with a moderately hot summer with little precipitation. The first half of the year was cooler and drier than average, creating a slight delay in the growth cycle of the vines compared to previous years. In general, 2019 shows many similarities to the great vintages of the 1980s. Summer temperatures were at a constant high level, with no peaks or heavy rainfall.
